Procter & Gamble, Sitting on Top of the World?

On top of a pile of dead animals that is. Animals that they have brutalized, tortured and murdered, in the name of household products, skin care, make-up, medications, hair care products, etc. Procter & Gamble is one of the leading animal testing companies in the world. They kill more animals in ridiculous and non-required test then anyone could ever imagine. They are actually genetically changing mice in order for them to become better test subjects for testing household products. The changes make them more vulnerable to lung damage and asthma just so they can test an enzyme called subtilisin, which is used in detergents. These poor creatures are subjected to constant injections of the chemical, until they cannot take it anymore and die. This only touches a tiny portion of the cruelty that takes place within the walls at P&G. Each year thousands die, unheard; unseen they suffer.

These tests are going on around this clock for absolutely no reason other than to save their ass if they ended up in court. And even if they did, the testing results would be meaningless, because they were not human subjects. Animals are not human and any test performed on them is impractical. The following is a quote regarding the Federal Human Safety Act:

The FHSA only requires that a product be labeled to reflect the hazards it presents. It does not require anyone to perform animal tests. The Commission policy is, whenever possible, to evaluate product hazards by using alternatives to animal testing. We encourage anyone evaluating products to determine whether they present hazards listed in the FHSA to follow a similar policy. –The US Consumer Product Safety Commission
Draize and skin testing on rabbits.

Procter & Gamble have repeatedly blocked alternatives to testing on animals. In 1987, they made a stand against a shareholders resolution that would have ended the suffering of animal tests. They also rallied to prevent California from banning the Draize test. Rabbits are restrained and chemicals are placed into their eyes, they are unable to blink and do not have tear ducts to clear the eye so they scream as it is applied. The LD 50 test or lethal dose is a test where animals are given large amounts of a product to see how much it will take to kill them. Imagine drinking a bottle of shampoo or detergent!

These barbaric testing practices must end and the only way to make this happen is to boycott all Procter and Gamble products. If you have some in your home mail it back to the company with a note portraying your outrage. There is no excuse for continuing to support this monster of a company.
We have assembled the most recent list of products made by Procter & Gamble that will be updated regularly. If you would like a PDF of this list please let us know in the comments.
Skin testing on a beagle. No anesthesia or pain killers given.

*P&;G recently purchased some brands that do not test on animals (Aussie, Sebastian, Wella, First Aid Beauty, Snowberry, Native) however purchasing them is still contributing to the funds for testing on other products. There is also no guarantee that testing isn’t now happening on these products; due to P&G’s policy for testing. Say NO to all P&G brands and save some lives.

Have just rec'd this info via FB and was totally disgusted. I then found out that Stella McCartney (Sir Paul's daughter) has joined with P & G, this makes no sense as she is a huge activist, vegan, etc., r u sure of your info? I don't doubt animal testing goes on, it is almost impossible to buy everything animal testing free. The chain of ownership of these companies seems endless and researching each and everyone a full time job (and some), but I have a hard job imagining S Mc would affiliate herself and her product line with a company allegedly this vile.
