Death in the Maricopa County Animal Shelters Arizona

Everyday dogs and cats are picked up or dumped at the shelter by their owners. Left to die as the chances of adoption are quiet slim in such a large operation. There are so many faces and each one of them has their own unique story. Unfortunately one of the most plentiful breeds being dumped is the lovely happy chihuahua. Each week there are more than a dozen and sometimes 30-40 of them. Shaking, scared and alone they wait for their chance to be saved by a caring person.

Chihuahua's are not the only dogs dumped, their is always a wide selection of new companions. Ranging from tiny to extra large their is a kind needy soul for everyone looking to adopt.
Maricopa county is very large, so the animals are divided into two shelters; Maricopa County West in Phoenix and Maricopa County East in Mesa Arizona. I highly advise for anyone looking for a new pet to check out these shelters, before looking anywhere else. These animals will die if homes are not found in time and for most this shelter is the last home they will have. The shelters are open seven days a week for adoptions 11AM-5:30PM. Adoption fees vary.
